Upon entering Antidote’s kitchen, I was overwhelmed by the colors and shapes of their pantry. Think – whole crispy ducks hanging by the rows, a rainbow of chopped vegetables ready to be flambé in the wok, aromatics sizzling from every pots, pans, and moving object. I was inspired to highlight this Renaissance version of a Chinese restaurant’s kitchen – using visual tropes directly taken from their listen of ingredients.

Here, we tried to steer away from the stereotypical tropes such as red chilies and heavy calligraphy. Antidote is meant to be remedy for anyone, and everyone who is hungry for the flavor sonata of Chinese cuisine. While attention to craft and detail were also contributing to our design direction, we also couldn’t help to make a version that felt as colorful as our community here in New York City, and beyond.
