ABOUT
Vietnamese condiments are all about enhancing natural flavors with combinationsof salty, sweet, sour, and spicy. They emphasize freshness and balance. Which is my design philosophy for this project – to unveil the complex nuances that is yet to be discussed when it comes to Vietnamese flavor.
Condiment making is a prestigious craft in our culture. Current media climate, however, describes it as ‘pungent’ and ‘strong’. When in reality if used in moderation, a touch of Vietnamese condiments truly elevates any dish to another flavor complexity.
There is opportunity for to re-tell the Vietnamese brand in a more contemporary anecdote. I used my own hand-drawn illustration and scripted type to convey a sense of artisanal. Since all the products would be hand-made with traditional methods, all by hands. The use of vibrant pastel allow the products to pop, without overpowering the goodness inside each bottles.
